The journal aims to present papers that provide conceptual advance in the relevant field. Particular emphasis will be placed on work aimed at understanding the basic mechanisms underlying biological events.

The journal's international team of Editors and Associate Editors represent a huge range of interests, but each have as the core of their research the elucidation of basic molecular mechanisms that underly fundamental biological events and processes. Consequently Genes to Cells welcomes high quality original research and review papers across the whole of the biological sciences - from protein structure to gene rearrangement, and from cell fate determination to neural development - all with the aim of understanding basic molecular mechanisms.

Key features:

- Top quality international research and reviews in molecular and cellular biology
- Focuses on the basic molecular mechanisms underlying biological processes
